How to Add Links and Navigation to a Canva Website
Links let guests move between website pages or open an outside destination such as a registry, map, accommodation page, or RSVP service.
Add a link to text or an element
- Select the text, button, image, or other element.
- Choose Link from the toolbar or additional options menu.
- Select a page in the design or paste the full external URL.
- Apply the link, then test it in Preview.
Link to another page in the same website
Use a page link for buttons such as Details, RSVP, Travel, or Back. If you delete and replace the linked element, add the link again.
Link to an outside website
- Use the complete destination URL, including https://.
- Open the destination yourself before publishing.
- Use descriptive button text such as View the venue map instead of Click here.
Set up navigation
- Give each page a short, clear public title.
- Review the website with navigation turned on and off.
- If you keep navigation visible, verify that page names appear in the intended order and make sense to guests.
Final link test
- Preview the design and click every linked element.
- Publish the site.
- Open the live URL in a private browser window.
- Test all links again on both phone and desktop.
If a link stops working after an edit, select the replacement element and reapply the destination.
