How to Download, Print, and Share Your Design
Choose the export format based on how the finished design will be used. Always proofread names, dates, addresses, and links before downloading.
For digital sharing
- Select Share, then Download.
- Choose PNG for a sharp digital invitation or image with text.
- Choose MP4 Video when the design contains animation that should keep moving.
- Download the file and test it on another device before sending it to guests.
Share the finished file or published website URL with guests. Do not share your editable Canva design or buyer template link.
For professional printing
- Ask the printer which dimensions, bleed, crop marks, and color settings they require.
- In Canva, review margins and show print bleed when available.
- Extend background colors or images through the bleed area, while keeping names and important details safely inside the margins.
- Select Share > Download > PDF Print.
- Turn on Crop marks and bleed only when your printer requests them.
- Consider Flatten PDF if your printer reports missing fonts or shifted elements.
For home printing
- Download as PDF Print.
- Print one test copy before producing the full quantity.
- Use the correct paper size and print at actual size or 100% unless your template instructions say otherwise.
- Check your printer's supported paper thickness before buying cardstock.
Before you approve a print run
- Confirm the final size and orientation.
- Inspect photos for blur or pixelation.
- Keep essential text away from trim edges.
- Expect some color difference between a backlit screen and printed paper.
- Order or print a proof whenever possible.
For product-specific settings, follow the instructions included with that product. A print shop's requirements take priority over general guidance.
